GRADE: NCCS 8

TERMS OF SERVICE: PERMANENT AND PENSIONABLE

This is the entry level for degree holders and training grade for this cadre. An officer at this level works under supervision of a senior officer.

 

a.    Duties and Responsibilities

 

The duties and responsibilities entail: -

  1. Preparing responses to simple routine correspondences;
  2. Maintaining office diary and protocol;
  3. Handling telephone calls and appointments;
  4. Ensuring security of office records, documents and equipment;
  5. Attending to visitors / clients;
  6. Assisting in planning and organizing meetings, conferences, and seminars
  7. Supervision of office cleanliness and
  8. Undertaking any other duties that may be assigned.

 

Job Specification

 

b.    Requirement for appointment

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have: -

       i.          Bachelor’s degree in any of the following area Secretarial Studies, bachelor of Business and Office management,

OR

      ii.          Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences plus a diploma in Secretarial Studies from a recognized institution; and

  1. Proficiency in computer applications.

Successful candidates will be required to submit clearance certificates from the following bodies:
  • Kenya Revenue Authority - (Valid Tax compliance certificate).
  • Directorate of Criminal Investigations - (Certificate of good conduct)
  • Higher Education Loans Board - (Compliance certificate, where applicable)
  • Ethics and Anti – Corruption Commission - (Self-Declaration form)
  • Credit Reference Bureau - (Certificate of clearance or credit report)
