Job Description

       POSITION: PRINCIPAL PLANNING AND STRATEGY OFFICER

POST: ONE (1)

GRADE: NCCS 5

VACANCY NO: NCCS/6/2026 

TERMS OF SERVICE: PERMANENT AND PENSIONABLE

 

a.    Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities entail: -

         i.          Carrying out research and translate research findings to policy briefs to inform improvement of services;

             ii.          Initiating development of policies and codes of conduct to regulate good practice relating to child protection and child welfare;

            iii.          preparation and implementation of the Council’s performance contract;

           iv.          Participating in the preparation of Medium-Term Expenditure Frameworks, Medium Term Plans and other related assignments in the Annual Government Budgeting cycles;

            v.          Coordinating policy advocacy initiatives of the Council;

           vi.          b.    Requirements for appointment

 

For appointment to this grade, an officer must: -

     i.          At least nine (9) years’ work experience three (3) of which must be at the grade of Senior planning and strategy officer or in a comparable position;

    ii.          Bachelor's Degree in any of the following fields Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Strategic Management, Business Development, Development Studies, and Business Administration or equivalent qualifications from a recognized institution;

  iii.           Membership to a relevant professional body;

 iv.           A Management Course lasting not less than Four (4) weeks from a recognized institution; and

   v.          Proficiency in computer applications.

Successful candidates will be required to submit clearance certificates from the following bodies:
  • Kenya Revenue Authority - (Valid Tax compliance certificate).
  • Directorate of Criminal Investigations - (Certificate of good conduct)
  • Higher Education Loans Board - (Compliance certificate, where applicable)
  • Ethics and Anti – Corruption Commission - (Self-Declaration form)
  • Credit Reference Bureau - (Certificate of clearance or credit report)
