   POSITION: SENIOR CORPORATE COMMUNICATION OFFICER

POST: ONE (1)

GRADE: NCCS 6

VACANCY NO: NCCS/9/2026

TERMS OF SERVICE: PERMANENT AND PENSIONABLE

 a.    Duties and responsibilities

 Duties and responsibilities entail: -

       i.          Preparing media supplements, press releases, documentaries and articles;

      ii.          Disseminating public awareness materials;

    iii.          Implementing public communications and relations, strategies, programs and activities;

   iv.           Carrying out public awareness programmes;

     v.          Organizing council’s planned events and functions;

   vi.           Manning information desk services at publicity events and outreach forums;

b.     Requirements for appointment

 

For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -

       i.          Cumulative service period of six (6) years’ three (3) of which must be at the Communication Officer I or in a comparable position;

      ii.          Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Mass Communications; Journalism; Public Relations; Public Relations and Marketing or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;

    iii.          Membership of the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK) or any other relevant professional body; and

   iv.          Proficiency in Computer Applications.

 

c.    Key Competencies and Skills.

 

       i.          Communication and presentation skills;

      ii.          Alternative dispute resolution skills;

    iii.          Organization and planning skills;

   iv.          Research skills;

     v.          Supervisory skills;

   vi.          Interpersonal skills; and

  vii.          Team player.

  • Kenya Revenue Authority - (Valid Tax compliance certificate).
  • Directorate of Criminal Investigations - (Certificate of good conduct)
  • Higher Education Loans Board - (Compliance certificate, where applicable)
  • Ethics and Anti – Corruption Commission - (Self-Declaration form)
  • Credit Reference Bureau - (Certificate of clearance or credit report)
